8 point increase on ACT

“Good morning, Dr. Benthall! — I just received my ACT scores. After your class, I made a 32 on the ACT for a total increase of 8 points! The time management skills you taught me worked phenomenally well. I had extra time on almost every test section. Thank you so much for everything! I am eternally grateful!”

New ACT Score of 34

“Good morning, Dr. Al — I just wanted to update you that Rithvik scored 34 on the ACT: an increase of 5 points from his initial ACT (if we translate to SAT, the increase was 1320 to 1500 for 180 points). Thank you so very much for being there for him at all times. This wouldn’t be possible without your support & guidance. Your strategies for ACT were so helpful. He already referred you to some of his friends. Thank you!”

The expertise of a private tutor.
The energy of a small seminar.

With Dr. Al Benthall’s six-week ACT Master Strategies in-person course, you get what you need from a private tutor, along with many remarkable things you can’t get from one-on-one sessions. With classes capped at ten, you’ll be inspired and motivated by working alongside other energetic students with a common goal. The combined results are incredible.

We don't just tell. We show.

Most ACT prep classes give you information about what you did wrong on questions you miss. And that’s it. ACT Master Strategies, however, goes deeper. Training you to use what you already know, in combination with our exclusive strategies, BTP takes your prep to the next level.

But there’s more. BTP also trains you in Dr. Benthall's unique recursive study method that helps you precisely diagnose your weaknesses and eliminate them as you go. You’ll quickly learn to catalog each question you miss and review challenge areas for a custom fit that gets maximum results in minimal time.

Here’s what you’ll cover in
ACT Master Strategies Class

ACT English

Dispels "grammar-phobia" by breaking down SAT grammar into five major components, allowing students to master the mechanics of Standard Written English. Also covers punctuation, usage, sentence structure, topic development, organization, unity, and cohesion, word choice, style, and tone.

ACT Math

Breaks down ACT math problems into basic categories and teaches students key strategies for each, including answer substitution (backsolving), number plugin, and strategic guessing

ACT Reading

Shows students how to accelerate reading speed and deepen comprehension through time-tested “smart reading” strategies, as well as how to avoid “trap answers” and zero in on correct answers quickly and efficiently.

ACT Science

Reveals the underlying patterns of this “Reasoning Test” (yes, this section is more like the Reading section than the Math section!), showing students how to filter information quickly and accurately, as well as how to sort questions by data representation, research summary, and conflicting viewpoints.

ACT Essay Writing

Boosts each student’s ability to compose a first-rate essay, bringing a perfect score within easy reach. By learning to dissect the underlying structure of each prompt, and by mastering the art of writing clean, powerful sentences, each student gains creative command of the ACT Essay. Students also look “behind the scenes” at what really matters to essay test-graders, further enhancing their confidence and competitive edge on the ACT Essay.

Real Conditions Practice ACT

Two weeks before the real ACT, students will take a Real Conditions Practice ACT. This "dress rehearsal" uses authentic ACT testing materials and replicates the real testing environment as closely as possible, including time constraints. Students then receive personalized feedback on how to diagnose and master their final "sticking points" before the real ACT.
